DEAR CUSTOMERS,
We have retired since April 2 2024. Please accept our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support throughout the years. Your patronage has meant the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for the memories and the relationships we've built together. While it's hard to say goodbye, we are excited to introduce you to the new restaurant -Tasty Planet Indian Restaurant who will be carrying on our legacy. We encourage you to visit and experience the exciting changes they will bring to the table. Your continued support means everything to us and we hope you'll extend the same warm welcome to the new team. Thank you again for being a part of our restaurant journey. We cherish the memories and look forward to seeing you again soon.
All the best wishes
Debbie and whole staff from Grand View Restaurant.
P.S. I also would like to extend my heartfelt "thank you" to my chef, Cheuk, my business partner, and the whole long term and short term staff who had been working really diligently with us along our restaurant journey.
To read, to walk, to travel, to chat with friends, to cook at home or eat out, to cook dog food for our beloved Golden Doodle Ojiro, to further improve my baking skill, to work on my fruit and vegetable gardens, to do some volunteer work, to pursue further my painting and ceramic pottery interests, and to continue to learn new things, I am excited about the new possibilities that retirement brings, and I am looking forward to exploring them. I will always cherish the moments spent with my loyal customers, who have become like family to me. I am grateful for all the wonderful messages from our customers. It brings me great joy to know that our food and service have been enjoyed and appreciated by so many. As I look back on the grand opening of Grand View restaurant, I am filled with pride and nostalgia. It was a dream that came to fruition through hard work, dedication, and the support of my family and friends. I remember the excitement and nervousness on that first day. But as the years went by, thanks to our excellent chef, Cheuk, we became a staple in the community, a go-to spot for celebrations and special occasions. And now, as I close this chapter in my life, I am grateful for the memories and experiences that will stay with me forever. And to mark this special occasion, I baked a retirement mango cake for our final day of business. The sweet and tangy flavours of the mango represent the bittersweet emotions I feel as I say goodbye to my restaurant and customers. But I am also excited for the new beginnings that await me. So, to all my dear customers, thank you for being a part of this journey with me. And to the new owner of Tasty Planet Indian Restaurant, I wish you all the best in continuing the legacy of delicious food and exceptional service. As for me, I am ready to embrace the next chapter of my life with open arms and an open heart. Thank you all, and farewell from Grand View.
As I sit down to write this heartfelt thank you message, my heart is overflowing with gratitude for all the love and support that I have received from each and every one of you. It has been an emotional and bittersweet journey as I prepare to bid farewell to my career and embark on a new chapter of retirement. But amidst all the mixed emotions, your warm hugs, heart-touching messages, and thoughtful gifts have brought so much joy and comfort to my heart.
From the beautiful farewell retirement cards filled with heartfelt messages to the stunning bouquet of flowers and plants that adorned my desk, and the indulgent boxes of chocolates that satisfied my sweet tooth, each and every gesture has touched me deeply. Your thoughtfulness and generosity have truly overwhelmed me, and I will forever cherish these memories.
As I shared the news of my retirement with my loyal customers in the last few weeks of business, I was met with the most common question, 'what are you going to do after retirement?'. And while my top priority is to relax and take some much-needed time for myself and family, many of you have expressed interest in having our recipes for your favourite dishes. The hot and sour soup that warms your soul, the braised cod in hot garlic sauce that tantalizes your taste buds, the mouth-watering mu shu pork, sizzling crispy rice, deep-fried spicy boneless spareribs, squid, and prawns, the list goes on and on. Your love for our food has truly touched my heart, and I am honoured to share these recipes with you in the future.
But that's not all, some of you have gone above and beyond and suggested that I start a YouTube channel to share my love for food, dog food cooking, baking, gardening, and traveling. What a great idea! I must admit, the thought has crossed my mind, and I am seriously considering it.
Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for being a part of my journey. Your love, support, and friendship have meant the world to me, and I will carry these memories with me as I start this new chapter in my life. Thank you for making my retirement truly special and unforgettable.
